Replicates the Look of a Sliding Sash Window

ECOSlide® replicates the look and operation of a traditional timber sash, vertically sliding, with deep bottom rail options, period hardware, Farrow & Ball colour matching, and authentic corner detailing, without the rot, warping, or repainting. Made to order in virtually any size, with 9 foil finishes and any classic RAL colour available.

For installers, that means winning jobs others walk away from including period properties, conservation areas, heritage refurbs where a standard casement won’t get planning approval. Tilt knobs allow inside cleaning from upper floors, built-in drainage channels water away from the frame, and travel restrictors and security locks are available as standard.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How does a sliding sash window open?

Unlike a casement window, a sliding sash window has no outward-opening mechanism. The two sashes slide vertically, with the lower sash moving up and the upper sash moving down in the same plane as the frame. There are no projecting handles or hinges, so the profile can closely replicate original timber windows.

As a result, the sliding action helps make sure the window doesn’t swing open during tough conditions without interfering with curtains or internal blinds. These are  practical benefits that are worth mentioning to customers who compare it to a casement.
